What is your role at the company, and what are your key responsibilities?
Service Technician
Building trust with clients on helpdesk issues.
Supporting client networks & troubleshooting infrastructure issues.
Growing professional skills through training and not being hesitant to ask questions.
Provide proactive support for clients such as patch management, desktop optimization, monitoring, data backup, and other preventative maintenance.
Providing support for clients in the onsite tech role.
How long have you been working in your current position, and what led you to this role?
I have been working in my current position at KTI for about 11 months. Prior to joining KTI, I spent approximately 3.5 years in the IT field. I was motivated to transition to this role because I was seeking new challenges and the opportunity to work with a diverse range of customers. KTI offered the perfect environment to expand my experience and further develop my skills.
Can you describe a typical day in your job?
A typical day in my role begins with checking emails and communication channels for any urgent updates. I review and prioritize scheduled tasks and any pressing customer issues. My daily responsibilities often include performing routine system maintenance, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting any reported issues. Additionally, I provide technical support to end-users, assisting with software installations, network connectivity problems, and hardware issues. Regularly documenting and updating system configurations and procedures is also a key part of my day. Throughout the day, I coordinate with team members and other departments to ensure seamless IT operations.
What do you enjoy most about your work at Kerkhoff Technologies?
I enjoy the diverse range of challenges and the opportunity to work with a variety of clients. It keeps me engaged and continuously learning, and I appreciate the collaborative and supportive team environment
What projects or accomplishments are you most proud of in your career?
At the beginning of my career, I received valuable mentorship from a coworker, which, along with my strong performance, led to an opportunity to independently upgrade hardware running 14 virtual machines. This project went smoothly and was my first major solo project, making it a significant milestone in my career.
How do you collaborate with other team members to achieve your goals?
I maintain regular communication with the team through Microsoft Teams and participate in daily meetings to discuss any pending issues and align our objectives.
What are some recent developments or innovations in your field that you find exciting?
I'm excited about the advancements in cloud computing and AI integration, especially how they enhance cybersecurity and streamline IT management processes.
What is your number 1 tech tip (that you personally use) to our audience?
One tech tip I personally use and recommend is to regularly back up your data. I make it a habit to schedule automatic backups to a cloud service. This ensures that all important files are safe and can be easily restored in case of hardware failure, accidental deletion, or other data loss incidents. It’s a simple step that can save a lot of headaches!

Catching up with friends, going for a walk, or exercising at the gym.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work that you are passionate about?
I love whipping up new recipes in the kitchen, exploring scenic hiking trails, and taking exhilarating drives through the mountains.

I am excited about Deadpool & Wolverine
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I would love to travel to Iceland. The stunning landscapes, from waterfalls to glaciers, are incredible. Plus, the chance to see the Northern Lights would be an unforgettable experience. It's a perfect mix of natural beauty and adventure!
What is your favorite type of cuisine or restaurant, and what dish can you never resist ordering?
Korean cuisine is my favorite, and I can't resist ordering Korean fried chicken with a bowl of rice and Tteok-bokki. It's my go-to comfort food!
What is your go-to music playlist or artist for getting pumped up before a busy day?
I listen to any music that matches the vibe, without a particular preference. However, if I had to choose, I'd go with Honey Singh for Punjabi music and The Weeknd for English music.
What is your favourite quote or piece of advice that you live by?
The only way to do great work is to love what you do
If you could have a superpower, what would it be, and how would you use it?
If I could have a superpower, it would be teleportation. I'd use it to travel the world and visit loved ones instantly
